Donors Choose for your Classroom

A few years ago on a lark I asked my wife to buy me a ukulele for Christmas. After almost two years of noodling with it at home and at school (modeling learning to my students) I decided that I wanted to start a ukulele club at school. I talked to my building principal about it and she was very supportive. With money always an issue I told her that I would like to try Donors Choose, a site where teachers can ask for money to be used to fund projects.

Teachers Are...

We know all of MSTA's members and advocates were not able to attend the Open Hearings, so we wanted to share the video we showed during those meetings.

As we’ve mentioned before on this blog with the post Educators, more than just teachers, we know you are so much more than just lesson plans and grades. Over the next year, we intend to highlight the “extras” and hidden side of teaching so that when legislators, politicians, opponents and community members ask, what do you do? You can answer, Teach and so much more, with concrete examples and details.

Our ultimate goal is to empower you as an educator in Missouri to speak up about the things you do every day to make the lives of your students a little better.
