I met Ralf Trusty 3 years prior to the 2012 Convention in a secluded place called Bunker Hill where cell phones and internet were unavailable and members of the Missouri State Teachers Association gathered each year to refuel and gain leadership training for the coming up school year. I remember the day well. It was dinnertime at the mess hall and with all meals served in a family style you sat at an empty seat with total strangers.
