Personal Finance Course Requirement

     In these tough economic times, I was just wondering how high school students are receiving their mandated personal finance class.  Can any teachers shed some light on the subject?  I know the State Board of Education approved a half unit of personal finance for each Missouri high school pupil in late 2005. . .

Alternative Certification in Denver

You'll notice that many of our non-traditional education stories over the last few months have been coming from Colorado. Here is another certification option to ponder and this one comes straight from the city of Denver. The Denver Teacher Residency program is modeled after medical residency. After 10 months in the classroom with a mentor teacher (and a required five-year commitment to Denver Public Schools) participants receive their certification.
