Field Service Coordinator for the Missouri State Teachers Association.
If you didn't come here intentionally, you've found a staff member for the largest professional education association in the state of Missouri. An English teacher for thirteen years, I moved out of the classroom and into the role of Field Service Coordinator in 2001.
My career preparation/qualifications include a BSed degree (English) from Missouri State University and a MS Arts degree (instructional technology) from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
I began teaching in 1988 in Sedalia, Missouri - home of the Missouri State Fair. And my last instructional position was with the Blue Springs School District which lies in a suburban area of Kansas City, Missouri.
Experience and a passion for the middle school movement early in my career led me to volunteer time to the Missouri Middle School Association for nearly ten years. I also served on numerous other committees throughout my tenure in the public school system. . .
As a Field Service Coordinator for MSTA, my job is unique and varies from day to day. I am involved in every aspect of member benefits and services: legal assistance, professional development, governmental relations, member recruitment, salary and welfare negotiations, and much more.
[My current employer, an independent organization with no national ties, serves nearly 44,000 members.]
